Dear Readers:

Welcome back to Religious Studies News! I hope you enjoyed your winter break. The AAR Executive Office enjoyed a lovely snowfall on Christmas Day, which if our local radio hosts are to be believed has not happened in about ninety years. We were recently walloped with an ice storm that caused the city of Atlanta to shut down for a week and so are very glad to be back to our normal routines.

I am sure you are eager to explore our January issue of RSN. We have a very robust Annual Meeting section, including our Call for Papers, general instructions, and important deadlines.

The News section contains our officer elections results, a fond farewell to longstanding AAR member Thomas A. Idinopulos, and other important information related to the AAR.

And finally, please be sure to check out our growing Resources section. We have added several items to the website in the months since our last issue. Inside the Resources Menu are several delightful additions to the website, including:

  • Ask Academic Abby: Advice given on professional concerns and how to navigate the occasionally treacherous waters of academe. We are always seeking new material.
  • Archives: Past issues of RSN and Spotlight. Additions have been made to this section. We now have issues of Spotlight on Teaching going back to 2004 and all issues of Spotlight on Theological Education.
  • Recommended Reading: Influential, pivotal, seminal, or otherwise important publications in various fields of religion and theology. Additions have been made to this section.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Gray
RSN Editor
