Beginning in 2012, current AAR membership will be required to submit a proposal in response to the Call for Papers. Membership is only required for the submitter. It is not required for all participants in a prearranged paper or panel session at the time of submission, though if the session is accepted, all participants must become members of the AAR by June 15.

Requests to invite a nonmember whose field is not in religion and who is not located within a religion department or program should be submitted to the Director of Meetings at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it no later than March 31.
