Over twenty-five members of the press attended the 2011 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, including journalists from the San Francisco Chronicle, Huffington Post, CNN, WPFW radio, ABC, KQED, National Catholic Reporter, Arkansas Democrat–Gazette, Publishers Weekly, Religion Dispatches, America Magazine, and Washington Post.


Winners of the 2011 AAR Awards for Best In-Depth Reporting on Religion were among the honorees at the Sunday evening Awards Ceremony. John Blake of CNN.com placed first. Dan Gilgoff of CNN.com placed second and Jason Berry, a freelance journalist writing for the National Catholic Reporter, placed third. John Blake and Dan Gilgoff were on hand to accept their awards in person. Congratulations to the award-winning journalists for their outstanding religion news coverage during 2010.
