Regional Board/Officers

With the approval of a new operating agreement with the American Academy of Religion, the Region is required to maintain a board of directors. With the assistance of Mary McGee, Alfred University, and Michel Desjardins, Wilfrid Laurier University, who served on a nominations committee, we elected or approved the following directors at our May 2011 business meeting in Syracuse:

David Seljak, University of Waterloo, President, 2012
Jennifer Harris, University of Toronto, Vice President, 2012
Ken Derry, University of Toronto–Mississauga, Secretary, 2012–2015
Emma Brodeur, Syracuse University, Student Director, 2012–2014
Scott T. Kline, University of Waterloo, Regional Coordinator, ex officio

Electing a New Regional Coordinator

After serving five years as the Regional Coordinator of the AAR–EIR (two years as interim and three as elected), Scott T. Kline's term will come to an end in 2012. He will not seek an additional term. Therefore, the region will soon begin a process to receive nominations for the next Regional Coordinator (ReC). A nominations committee will be chaired by Ken Derry, University of Toronto–Mississauga, Secretary of the Region. He will be contacting regional members about this process.
