Soraya Shahrak joined the AAR in October 2010 as the Conference and Membership Coordinator. She is responsible for the registration and housing for the Annual Meeting, which is held in November of each year. Prior to work with the AAR, Shahrak was a student at the Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado, and graduated with honors in 2007 with a BA in Meeting Administration. While a student at Metropolitan State College of Denver, Shahrak worked with the Golden Key International Society where she organized such events as the Annual Induction Ceremony, Annual President’s Tea, and the Better World Book Drive. She also was a Teacher’s Assistant to the Head Professor and Director of the Meeting Administration Department.

Shahrak’s expertise includes vendor relations, sponsorship solicitation, and operational and logistical management, gained from more than fourteen years of increasingly responsible positions in food service and event coordination working with fast-paced, rapidly expanding companies. She has been an event coordinator for four years previous to her employment at the AAR.
